Pressed-in Gratings –
Made in Germany

Traditionally, pressed-in gratings are our core area of competence and the most popular of all our products. Flexible mesh patterns and different bearing bar types enable a large number of variants. Moreover, since GI-RO can also manufacture different materials, the customisation possibilities for pressed-in gratings are virtually endless.

Multiple uses in industry, construction and the architectural sector, such as walkways and maintenance aisles, covers, bridges, stages and cellar shafts.

Good by design!

  • Low dead weight
  • High load-bearing capacity

Technical information

Structure of a GI-RO pressed-in grating

GI-RO’s pressed-in gratings consist of parallel bearing bars into which flat-steel crossbars are pressed during the manufacturing process. This is followed by the framing of bearing bars and crossbars – which are arranged at right angles to one another.

GI-RO’s pressed-in gratings are fitted with a T-profile edging as standard. This establishes a good connection to bearing bars and crossbars and ensures an ideal frame from a technical and aesthetical standpoint. If you wish, we can also produce a flat steel edging for you.

Materials and surface finishes

Depending on the intended use, our gratings are made with different materials and are delivered with various surface finishes. As standard, pressed-in gratings are manufactured in S235JR steel and are hot-dip galvanised according to DIN EN ISO 1461. At your request, we can also manufacture pressed-in gratings in stainless steel or aluminium.

Slip resistance

Dirt, oil, grease or water on floor coverings that can be walked on or driven over always means an increased risk of slipping. Thanks to our gratings with special slip resistance, you can still enjoy reliable grip in all situations. Our pressed-in gratings offer slip resistance by means of varying recesses in the bearing bars and/or crossbars. Depending on the profile, our gratings thus meet the requirements of the R10 to R12 rating classes.

Load values

Our pressed-in gratings are extremely sturdy construction elements and are therefore often used as walk-on covers and floor coverings. The load-bearing capacity is dependent on the grating design and the clear span and can be individually adjusted by changing the bearing bar type. You can easily look up the exact values in the load table, which you can download here: Download load table
